Qui e Ora

In Qui e Ora (Here and Now), we move within a constantly changing space, where past, present, and future seem to coexist simultaneously.

A long table appears on a summer evening.

Around it, wedding guests. The newlyweds are now in their fifties. We don’t know if what we see is happening now or if it is the memory of something already happened.

With director Andrea Collavino, we have captured a fluid time, without clear boundaries, in which bodies seamlessly traverse different ages, memories, and possibilities.

The space empties and fills continuously.

The seasons change. Summer lets in autumn, then snow, then spring again.

I’m interested in the way nature permeates work: the landscape, the grass, the hay, the rain, the darkness.

As if human beings continue to search for their place within something greater.

In his director’s notes, Andrea Collavino quotes Albert Einstein:

“The separation between past, present, and future is merely an illusion. But then he adds: ‘however tenacious.'”

This reflection on time pervades the entire work, allowing images, memories, and apparitions to emerge, coexisting in the same space.
